AN INTEGRATED APPROACH TO GUIDED IMAGERY
Guided imagery / visualization is a meditative technique that evokes images and sensations that allow you to source from within, gain personal insight and unlock your power to prosper and heal. Below is a general guided imagery practice that can be used to release tension, anxiety, and stress.
Close your eyes and allow your awareness to travel inward, anchoring your awareness on the tides of your breath moving in and out - long, smooth and natural breaths. Now allow your attention to travel to a serene, safe, beautiful place in your mind's eye - take a few moments to fully sense what it feels like to be in this inner sanctuary. Next, bring to mind a time in your life when you have felt a strong sense of yourself at ease, undisturbed, and "at one" with all that is around you and all that is within you. You may want to invite the image of someone who inspires you in this way to share presence with you. Enjoy reacquainting yourself with your own essence, at peace. Take a few moments to relax and reside in this experience. With this, allow yourself to embody and maintain that calm, confidence and harmony as you re-embark out into your daily life.
